Far Cry 3's Blood Dragon DLC, soaked in '80s neon, synth and dinosaurs with laser eyes, was one of the freshest implementations of the genre in some time. Kung Fury may have nothing to do with either Blood Dragon or Ubisoft, but when you're talking about a just-as-'80s-neon-synth-dinosaurs project that also has elements like hacking time with Nintendo's Powerglove and renegade Kung-Fu cops teaming up with vikings to stop Hitler, actual associations don't really matter.
Kung Fury has already has already easily passed its $200,000 Kickstarter goal to finish the project and there's still three and a half weeks to completion. Watch this trailer and you'll see exactly why.
