Four Harvard University Buildings Evacuated Following Report of Explosives

Authorities are investigating.

This morning, four of Harvard University's buildings were evacuated after the university received unconfirmed reports of explosives had been placed inside of them

Both the Harvard University Police Department and the Cambridge Police Department were on the scene to investigate, and campus police ordered students and faculty to exit the Science Center, Server, Thayer and Emerson Halls

According to the Wall Street Journal, Harvard has asked the Massachusetts State Police to send its bomb squad and bomb dogs. Officials also add that the FBI is responding to the incident. At 10:40 p.m., the university released its most recent update on the situation:

As you learned from the MessageMe alerts this morning, the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) received an unconfirmed report that explosives may have been placed in four buildings on campus: the Science Center, and Thayer, Sever and Emerson halls. Out of an abundance of caution, the buildings have been evacuated while the report is investigated by the HUPD and the Cambridge Police Department. [The investigation is ongoing.]
