While most comic book fans are still worked up over Batfleck, Fox’s upcoming TV drama based on the adventures of a young James Gordon has flown under the radar. Titled Gotham, the show will focus on the rookie Detective Gordon as he works his way through the ranks of the G.C.P.D., and according to a listing on TV Show Auditions, one of his first big cases will be the infamous double homicide of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Not only that, but a young Bruce Wayne looks to play a big role in the show. The site has a casting description up for the part below:

None

Not much is known about Gotham at this point, but the network is looking to have it on the air in 2014. The prospect of a show based around the Gotham City Police Department with no appearances by Batman might not sound too appealing to some. However, writers Ed Brubaker and Greg Rucka produced a similar concept in a comic book called Gotham Central during the 2000’s, which went on to become one of the most critically-acclaimed books of the decade. So with inspiration like that, Gotham could be a project to keep an eye on.
