After NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden granted TheWashington Post an extensive interview this week, he took to United Kingdom airwaves to offer the traditional "alternative Christmas address" on Channel 4.
The "alternative address" is a tradition of Channel 4, which gives citizens something else to watch other than Queen Elizabeth's annual address. In the two minute video, Snowden talks about George Orwell's 1984, and reminds Brits that:
A child born today will grow up with no conception of privacy at all. They'll never know what it means to have a private moment to themselves, an unrecorded, unanalyzed thought. And that's a problem, because privacy matters.
