With New Year's Eve comes drunken public transportation rides, Metro officials in the D.C.-area are advising passengers to be safe when using the service in the wake of a series of incidents.

NBC Washington released surveillance footage showing three people falling from Metro escalators, as well as one woman falling onto train tacks in the area. All four appear to be intoxicated. Though NBC Washington says everyone depicted in the video survived, Metro officials warn against using the transportation service if too drunk drunk.

In a statement, spokesman Dan Stessel urged people to take cabs if they're "in a position where they have trouble walking or standing." Drunk people rarely make good decisions, but let's hope people are at least wise enough to avoid traveling drunk and alone.
