A Louisiana man took his own life after killing four people in wounding three others last night.
According to the Associated Press, 38-year-old Ben Freeman was locked in a heated custody battle with his ex-wife, Jeanne Gouaux. He reportedly drove to the home of his former in-laws, fatally shooting his former mother-in-law, Pixie Gouaux, and leaving Lafourche Parish councilman Louis Gouaux and his daughter, Andrea, wounded.
He then traveled to the home of his old boss, Milton Bourgeois, killing Bourgeois and wounding his wife. The other area hospitals where Freeman worked were placed on lockdown until he was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound by a highway.
Sadly, that wasn't the last tragic discovery, as Freeman's current wife, Denise Taylor Freeman, was found dead inside of their home.
According to Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre, Freeman previously pleaded guilty to harassment charges and was only permitted to see his four children during supervised visits.
