New story-driven downloadable content (DLC) for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be out on December 17. Freedom Cry is reported to release in early December according to an accidental early outing in an advertisement in Game Informer this month.

Freedom Cry puts players into the shoes of Edward Kenway’s first mate Adewale, for four more hours of single-player gaming as he finds himself shipwrecked 15 years later on the island of Saint-Domingue without weapons or crew.

Peep the trailer above for some series skull-cracking action and get set to play the former slave as he rains some death and destruction on the island’s slave owners December 17.
