The Chicago Transit Authority has turned to the public for assistance identifying a woman who was seen on security camera footage boarding a blue line train headed to O'Hare International Airport with a two-foot alligator. Authorities also believe she left the alligator at the airport.

Acting on a social media tip, the CTA learned that the woman boarded the train at the Pulaski stop at 1:17 a.m. on Nov. 1. She can be seen holding the gator, as well as showing it to other people. She got off at the O'Hare stop at 2:17 a.m., then hopped on anouther blue line train headed south at 2:44 a.m.

The poor alligator was in bad shape, but was handed over to the Chicago Herpetological Society for care. It will be taken to an animal farm outside of Illinois after it makes a full recovery. Meanwhile, the agency is asking that anyone with information about the woman's identity to contacts its Customer Service at feedback@transitchicago.com or 1-888-968-7282.
