When the final pages of the Breaking Bad series finale script leaked last month, fans were overjoyed to find that Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul)'s liberating escape from the Nazi compound—where he'd been imprisoned for months—could actually lead to somewhat of a happy ending for him. Really, just take a look at these last lines: "Grimly determined, fearing nothing, [Jesse] speeds through the darkness. From here on, it's up to us to say where he's headed. I like to call it 'something better,' and leave it at that." How much more uplifting can you get?! Those lines even brought Paul to tears.

Well, turns out, series creator Vince Gilligan just enjoys ruining everyone's lives, and we may have all been wrong to speculate that Jesse would move to Hawaii after the events of the finale and live the good life sipping Mai Tais on the beach. According to Gilligan in a new interview with GQ for their Men of the Year issue, Jesse's fate might be much darker than that:

REFUSING TO BELIEVE THIS. Anyone else who's completely content with just assuming that Jesse is now living in Hawaii or something, just raise your hand.
