It's possible that tailgating could be banned at Super Bowl XLVlll.

Scheduled for Feb. 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., one of the year's biggest sports events could go down without the parking lot fan frenzy. According to the New Jersey Sports and Exhibition Authority, the entire complex will be under lockdown beginning Jan. 27, only granting access to those with credentials.

Furthermore, game-day parking permits will be difficult to secure due to the number of parking spaces typically available being reduced by 60 percent because security, as well the presence of numerous TV-satellite vehicles.

Nothing has been finalized, but if it happens, this could be a major letdown for fans, who would gladly tailgate in the cold because, well, it's the fucking Super Bowl.
