Cheers for the underdog.

If there were any other reason to love the upcoming virtual reality accessory, Engadget reports that Oculus VR's CEO confirmed that at launch, the consumer version of the anticipated Oculus Rift will only come in Android and PC flavors. However, consoles will be supported through a tethering workaround.

While PC gamers could feel a certain level of assured entitlement, this is big news for the Android gaming community. A move like this surely helps to legitimize Android for video game development and offer more competition in the console marketplace.

In related news, Soda Drinker Pro announced that their full version will support the Oculus Rift so fans of the PC title will be able to sip in full virtual reality sweetness.
