But despite all the hooplah, how many people don’t actually know what a bitcoin is? Our guess is plenty. That’s the assumption made by Mt. Gox, one of the leading bitcoin exchange platforms and the one that has had the most visible hand in shaping the bitcoin economy.
To simplify the nebulous concept for laypeople, Mt. Gox has launched Bitcoins.com, a website whose primary purpose is to explain the currency. In addition to running down what a bitcoin is and why people are turning to digital currency, the site also offers a series of step-by-step instructions on how to get started collecting bitcoins.
