A Brooklyn teenager was hospitalized after striking his head on a steel beam while subway surfing on an F train today. This marks the second subway surfing incident in New York City in the past week.
The New York Daily News reports that 17-year-old Isa Islam hit his head on the beam while atop a train traveling northbound around 2:20 a.m. this morning. He was rushed to Lutheran Hospital.
Last Wednesday, a 45-year-old homeless man was killed under similar circumstances involving a 6 train in Manhattan. A witness told the Daily News that the man, known only as "Grumps," may have been smoking synthetic marijuana prior to the incident.
