The Next iPhone Could Have a Curved Glass Display

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

iPhone rumor season never ends. The latest piece of speculation comes from a Bloomberg report that suggests Apple is currently developing a curved glass iPhone that could be released as early as the “second half of next year.”

The report, which cites an unnamed source, claims that Apple is gearing up to launch two models featuring glass displays that curve down at the edges—a 4.7-inch version and a bigger one measuring 5.5 inches, meaning the larger-screen iPhone we’ve been hearing speculation about for the past couple of years could finally be around the corner.

There’s also another (potentially more interesting) development here. According to Bloomberg, Apple is experimenting with more sophisticated touch screen sensors that can identify different pressure inputs, which could make the smartphone amenable to more advanced usage scenarios.

We’ve been bested by Apple rumors before, so it may be best to approach this one with a grain of salt. However, given the onslaught of intense competition from Samsung, the development of new technology is widely considered to be a necessity for Apple going forward.
