Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that it has a small team working to bring the original Warcraft real-time strategy series to modern PCs. This according to World of Warcraft production director J. Allen Brack

Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness were huge games when originally released the set the stage for Blizzard to become the gaming powerhouse that it is today. Responding to a question at BlizzCon 2013 this past weekend Brack revealed the “side project” of making older Warcraft games compatible with newer computers.

"So, we actually have a guy on our team — actually several guys on our team — who are actually working on a side project to do something like that in some form or fashion," Brack said. "We're fans of Warcraft 1, Warcraft 2, Warcraft 3, and we'd love to replay those games for sure."

The original Warcraft: Orcs and Humans dropped for MS-DOS back in 1994 to be followed a year later by the epic hit Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness in what is still considered to be one of the best sequels of all time. Those gamers savvy enough can play Warcraft using DOS-BOX, an emulator, that can be located using Google but it’s not compatible with all systems.
