Last week the FAA announced that they have approved the use of electronics in flights during takeoff and landing, and now Amazon is celebrating.

For one day, Amazon is slashing the price of the 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX, Kindle Fire HD, and the entry-level Kindle. All you have to do is head to the Amazon website and put in the code "ThnksFAA" while you're checking out (don't ask me why they decided to leave out the 'a' in 'thanks'.) This means you'll be able to pick up a 7-inch Kindle HDX for $195, a Kindle Fire HD for $118, and the regular Kindle for $59. The Kindle Paperwhite isn't part of the promotion today, but if you're looking to get a certain someone special one of these devices for the holidays, or for yourself, it'll be nice to bite the bullet and save a few bucks today. Happy flying, and happy reading.
