Amanda lles, a former teacher at a Yonkers Catholic school for boys, turned herself in to police yesterday after being accused of raping a 14-year-old student. The 27-year-old, who worked in Archbishop Stepinac High School's religious studies department, allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with the boy between June and July of this year. She resigned before the alleged rape took place, but authorities say she knew he attended the school.
Police in Yonkers were alerted after the boy's parents found out about his relationship with lles. lles had relocated to California, but was forced to return to New York to face charges. She'll make her next court apperance in December and could face up to seven years in prison if convicted.
