A few days after releasing that infuriatingly short teaser Vine to get everyone hyped up, 20th Century Fox has finally released the first full trailer for the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is the sort-of sequel to 2011's X-Men: First Class.

As expected, the film has a major task on its hands with this plotline: When the future of the mutants is threatened in modern day, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is sent back in time to enlist the help of the mutants from the past (a.k.a., those from First Class, including Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult) to fight a war that will change the past—to save the future. A ton of the actors from the original X-Men film series which ran between 2000 and 2006 are back, including Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Anna Paquin, Halle Berry, Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, and more.

You can check out the trailer above. X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to hit theaters next year on May 23, 2014.
