Walking Dead and Southland fans: get excited. An announcement at WD'sNY Comic Con panel yesterday revealed that fan favorite graphic novel character Sgt Abraham Ford will finally make his debut on the series later this season, and he'll be played by none other than Southland'sMichael Cudlitz, one of television's most underrated actors.

For those not up on the graphic novels, Abraham Ford is an army veteran that joins the group to become Rick's right hand man, and he travels with Dr. Eugene Porter—who'll be played by Josh McDermitt—a man who claims he knows how the outbreak began. The characters will probably make their impact around the halfway mark, similar to how Tyreese debuted in season three's mid-year finale. The new season starts tonight at 9, on AMC.
