Us & Them is the latest series to get the axe this TV season, and it hasn't even aired yet. The sitcom, originally slated to air midseason, was set to star Parenthood's Jason Ritter and also return Gilmore Girls' Alexis Bledel to the small screen, as a new couple whose long-distance romance is further complicated by their meddlesome family members.
The trailer suggests a cute, promising series but alas, it was not meant to flourish. After going on hiatus earlier this year to fix a few scripts—always a harbinger for cancellation—FOX has now decided not to produce more episodes than the six that are already in the can, and the cast has been told they're free to look for other jobs. The word cancellation hasn't officially been used yet, but the writing's on the wall.
