With Amnesia’s reins having been handed off to Dear Esther’s The Chinese Room, the devs responsible for the original Dark Descent are turning their sights on a bigger and more ambitious project: an enigmatic sci-fi horror title.

Little is known about SOMA (aside from how its been flexing its viral marketing muscle to build up to this trailer announcement) but what we do know is that it’s not focusing on combat, instead emphasizing exploration and adventure elements, among other things. (Sounds familiar, yeah?)

SOMA also seems to be pretty influenced by Alien and/or H.R. Giger in general – and it’s looking pretty promising for such an early look. It hits PC and PS4 in 2015, which should give you an indication of the level of ambition at work here. (Hopefully the dialogue in this teaser can be tweaked a bit by then.)
