Huge news for Star Wars fans. Apparently, those who purchased an extremely rare LaserDisc off eBay for a whopping $699 were treated to a sight that's definitely pricessless: It was full of raw footage from 1983's Return of the Jedi. According to The Verge, the origin of the LaserDisc hasn't been confirmed, but it was "once used to demonstrate Lucasfilm's EditDroid station — one of the first digital film editing systems sold nearly 30 years ago."
Luckily for all of us, though, the new owners of the LaserDisc have been posting snippets of the footage on a Facebook account. The 'About' section claims that there's "approximately 30 minutes of unedited raw, unsweetened work print takes in letterbox format of scene 50 (Luke on Dagobah with Yoda) from "Return of The Jedi" were used - NEVER OFFICIAL RELEASED MATERIAL" on the disc, but so far, only a few clips (without audio, sadly) have been released on the page.
