Tomorrow, Brooklyn's Prospect Park will be closed for six hours to accomodate the arrival of President Barack Obama—by helicopter, because he's goddamn boss.
All 526 acres of the park will be shut down and turned into a heliport for President Obama, who will be in town to visit Crown Heights' Pathways in Technology Early College High School. During his State of the Union address, the president specificall highlighted the school for its six-year curriculum that incorporates both high school and associate's degrees and internships.
As with anything President Obama does, this has resulted in complaints. "It’s a big inconvenience, especially with the New York City Marathon coming up," Mr. C’s Cycles manager Carlos Valentino told the New York Times. Others, like JackRabbit Sports manager Todd Colby, were more understanding. "Most people will understand, especially since he’s coming to our little village of Brooklyn," he said.
It's only from noon until 6 p.m. Let Barack rock. Also, keep in mind that complaining will have little effect on the outcome, because this is happening.
