There are a lot of indie games in development. Many are sci-fi games, and of those some are stealth-based. But the direction of Paradise Lost: First Contact seems to be something different. Take the artistic direction of Swords and Sworcery, cross it with an adventure game about an alien lifeform attempting to escape a biotech facility, that appears to be Paradise Lost, currently making its way on Steam Greenlight.
The game looks like it plays like a cross between Oddworld and, what, Metal Gear? Alien? It’s hard to say. The trailer also gives off a vaguely unsettling feeling, which is partially due to the art direction – which really speaks for itself – and partially due to what one might gather is an underlying streak of cynicism.
