Police in Suffolk County are searching for a suspect who entered a deli, pulled a gun and fired a shot at an employee. However, the employee turned the tables on the armed assailant, chasing the gunman out of the store with a 2-foot-long machete. 

The incident occurred on Sep. 25, when the masked suspect entered the Stop & Shop Deli and fired a shot from his .22-caliber weapon while demanding money. The 24-year-old clerk then removed the blade from beneath the counter, scaring the robber away with it. 

The Suffolk County ask that anyone with information about the crime to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
