President Obama gets blamed for a lot, and this is another cross he can't carry. A Florida man was arrested last week for allegedly attacking his pregnant girlfriend, then claiming police treated him unfairly because "Obama said cops always listen to women."
According to a police report, 18-year-old John Henry Shiffner was taken into custody after an argument with 30-year-old Lakesha Tolbert in Century, Fla. Tolbert told authorities that Shiffner pushed her on her back, even thought she's two-and-a-half months pregnant. She refused medical attention, but offered an explanation for Shiffner's behavior: he had been drinking all day following "a death in the family."
Shiffner denied this, and his mother also denied supplying him with the liquor. He was charged with aggravated battery and disorderly intoxication. He's also become fodder for the best meme ever.
