There's been much talk over Jared Leto's performance in Dallas Buyers Club, which finds him as a transsexual, opposite Matthew McConaughey as a homophobic cowboy, both with HIV. Now, speaking with The New York Times, Jared reveals his extreme methods to become Rayon the transsexual, including shedding thirty pounds to get himself to around 116lbs, with a conclave stomach.

He also stayed in character through the entirety of the 25 day shoot, so much so that fellow cast members say they never truly met "Jared Leto" until the film's premiere at the Toronto Film Festival "That phrase ‘staying in character’ to me really means commitment, focus, and for a role like this that’s so intense and challenging and extreme in a lot of ways, it demanded my full attention. I couldn’t imagine every time the director yelled ‘Action!’ that I would recall all of the aspects, the physical and emotional characteristics of the character, at a moment’s notice.
