Yesterday, a man was charged with selling guns out of his Park Slope apartment. The New York Daily News reports that 29-year-old Hannibal Smith held a limited federal firearms license at one time which allowed him to sell firearm accessories outside of the city. However, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman claims that Smith sold fully-assembled weapons out of his brownstone, where authorities reportedly found a rifle and two shotguns.
According to the Daily News, federal agents found a .22-caliber Ruger and two Mossberg 12-gauge shotguns inside of Smith's home. He didn't have a permit for any of them, and the limited license that he did carry was taken away. Furthermore, Smith is accused of sending two Waffen Werks AK-47s with pistol grips to Florida.
Smith turned himself in and was arraigned at Brooklyln Criminal Court yesterday where he was charged with three counts of weapons possession, each of which is punishable by up to seven years in jail. He was released without bail.
