Rockstar Games has provided an update to get over the rocky start to Grand Theft Auto Online and its myriad of sever issues. Grand Theft Auto Online launched on October 1 after GTA V broke all retail records. GTA Online has experience long load times and server drop issues that is preventing many players to accessing the online portion of the game.

An update is live now for PlayStation 3 users while an Xbox 360 patch "should be out today," according to Rockstar. One bottleneck in the online experience is a tutorial race and shootout mission that all players must go through the first time they log in. "Many players have been unable to get through this with repeated retries, and we are working on unblocking this for everyone as soon as possible," says a Rockstar spokesperson.

Rockstar has also disable the option to purchase GTA$ cash packs until everyone has access to GTA Online and it's stable. Hopefully these patches for PS3 and Xbox 360 go clear up some of the larger problems.
