J.J. Abrams may be the one holding the Star Wars reigns these days, but like Obi-Wan to Luke, George Lucas still appears from time to time to offer guidance. Speaking with Flicks and the City, Lucas' son Jett revealed that his dad was indeed very torn over selling Lucasfilm to Disney, and that he scripted the storyline for Episode VII a year before the sale was finalized.
As such, Jett says: "He's constantly talking to JJ. Obviously JJ was handpicked. He is there to guide, whenever, he'll help where he can. At the same time, he wants to let it go and become its new generation."
As for that storyline, yes Jett knows all about the plot and what's going to happen, and he's "happy" with it. Earlier in the interview he expresses a personal desire to see the new trilogy present a new set of heroes and villains for the new generation to become attached to. Since we know Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are returning, will the new story see them passing the baton lightsaber to their children?
