Horrible timing.

With the city being threatened by a possible tornado, it's probably not the best day for a crane to get stuck with 13,000 pounds of concrete just dangling in the balance. Alas, this is what has happened at 157 West 57th (the future One57 site), which has shut West 57th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues down.

ABC New York says that the crane jammed around the 20th floor of the building while it was lifting materials. Gothamist notes that this is the exact same place that a crane snapped during Hurricane Sandy last year. Once again, horrible timing.
