On Wednesday, an 11-year-old boy was arrested for bringing a handgun, 400 rounds of ammunition and knives toFrontier Middle School in Vancouver, Wash

Law enforcement was tipped off by the boy's mother, who was concerned after noticing that kitchen knives were missing. Resource officers at the school subsequently searched the boy and found both the weapons and ammunition. According to a probable cause document, the boy told school officials that a voice in his head told him to kill a classmate who had called his frend "gay."

The boy was charged with attempted assault, possession of a weapon at school and unlawful possession of a firearm. He was originally charged with attempted murder as well, but prosecutors did not find substantial evidence for the charge to maintain. He is being held at a juvenile detention center.
