Xbox One consoles will allow gamers to record video commentary over pre-recorded game clips according to Microsoft's Phil Harrison revealed during the Eurogamer Expo.

Xbox One's Upload Studio will allow players to record "as much or as little" footage as they want. Users can then go back and record commentary for the clip using the Kinect camera. The recorded clip and commentary will be paired in a picture-in-picture view over the top of the clip. Users can then choose to keep these videos private or share with friends or by social media, eventually.

The direct video recorder (DVR) included with the Xbox One is limited to 720p resolution at 30 frames per second. While users will not be able to share clips by social media at launch, Microsoft says users will be able to upload gameplay capture clips to Facebook and YouTube starting in 2014.
