The Huffington Post reports that law enforcement in Chicago has arrested two suspects responsible for last Thursday's shooting that left 13 people—including a 3-year-old boy—injured. According to the Chicago Tribune, two men—both 22-years-old—were arrested around 7:30 p.m. yesterday evening mere blocks from the shooting, which took place at Cornell Square Park on the city's south side.
Both men are in custody and currently being questioned. The police report says that one has been indentified as the shooter, the other as someone who "participated in the shooting."
At just 3-years-old, Deonta Howard was the youngest of the 13 victims. His grandmother, 39-year-old Semehca Nunn, told the Tribune that he is "walking, talking and eating" now. Howard, who was shot in the face, will need plastic surgery. Nunn added that doctors are waiting for his jaw bone to heal before proceeding with the operation.
Charges for both men are pending.
