The system uses the Vita chip sets and system software to allow user to play over 1,300 Vita, PSP and PSOne games on their TV using a DualShock 3 controller. Since the controllers are not equipped with a touch screen, camera or motion sensors not all Vita titles will be playable on the PS Vita TV.
The Vita's entertainment sections including movies and eBooks that will also be viewable on TV. The device will also enable PlayStation 4 owners to remote play PS4 games on a second TV using their DualShock 4 controllers.
