They'll share their "fragrance" if you provoke them, too.

Skunks have taken a liking to the parks of Upper Manhattan, which is great for the skunks, but terrible for everyone else. A cautious resident of Upper Manhattan told Fox New York that "three or four of them" can be found chilling in the park at any given time. People should be alarmed by sight of a gang of skunks, unless, of course, they don't mind the risk of getting sprayed.

Gothamist notes that this Great Skunk Migration began has been a gradual process, and Animal Control says they will not take action unless skunks begin to misbehave. Veteranarians say they will not misbehave unless provoked.

Do not provoke the skunks. You—and everyone else who comes into contact with you—will regret it.
