Aquaman #23.1: "Black Manta"

Writers: Geoff Johns and Tony Bedard
Artist: Claude St. Aubin
3D cover artists: Paul Pelletier, Sean Parsons, and Rod Reis

No character has benefitted from the launch of DC’s New 52 as much as Aquaman. Under the writing of Geoff Johns, the King of Atlantis has reclaimed his spot as one of the powerhouses of the company with epic tales of action and royal intrigue every month. Obviously Aquaman’s “Villains Month” issue focuses on Black Manta, his most dangerous enemy. In this story, by writers Tony Bedard and Geoff Johns, we see Black Manta meet the Crime Syndicate for the first time, and things obviously don’t go well. This issue has a blood-soaked 3D cover by Paul Pelletier, Sean Parsons, and Rod Reis, featuring the Black Manta standing triumphant over a fallen Aquaman. Check it out:
