After a long wait, Newton's Noodles (1129 20th St. NW) will finally open its D.C. location on Monday. In preparation for the grand opening, they treated special guests to a preview on Wednesday night, offering selections from the new fast-casual menu fathered by Executive Chef Dennis Friedman

As the younger sibling to Friedman's Bethesda, Md. success Newton's Table (4917 Elm St.), Newton's Noodles is built around Friedman's signature fuzu dish, which includes noodles, proteins, mixed vegetables and spices. The coco curry fuzu, which adds chicken, shrimp, scallops and a curry sauce, was on display Wednesday night and pretty damn addictive.

Appetizers include the ahi tuna bites, kapow chicken (also ridiculously good) and beef-filled wontons. There was also desert: Pattycake, the signature rum cake created by Friedman's wife, Patty. The Jamaican Jerk Kettle Chips courtesy of Doctor Dread were a sleeper hit for anyone who's ever wanted to douse their chips in jerk seasoning.

Located in Dupont Circle, Newton's Noodles also has a 40-seat patio to accompany its 70-seat interior. It will be open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Saturday.
