An argument between roommates got way past words after a Las Vegas woman blasted her roommate with a shotgun through his bedroom door this week. Mary Pitrello was arrested and charged with first-degree murder after shooting the man, then trying to use his vehicle to escpape.
The incident began as an argument around 9:30 p.m. in the apartment that Pitrello, 26, and the man shared. When the man went to his room, Pitrello retreated to her room to retrieve a shotgun. She fired once through the man's door, striking him in the head.
According to police, Pitrello and a friend who was visiting attempted to escape in the man's vehicle. They were apprehended by Las Vegas police at a hotel on Las Vegas Boulevard. Pitrello was charged with murder, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
