Yesterday afternoon, a man was arrested in Union Square for assaulting three pedestrians before screaming "I hate white people." Joey Boots, who witnessed the spectacle, told Gothamist:  "He bloodied him up pretty good." The man also attacked two others who tried to assist the first victim.

According to the video's poster, the attack was triggered by the first victim "walkin past [the suspect] funny." Boots is convinced that the suspect is homeless. "I was told he's been around here for a few days...he's been getting sandwiches from a local church group," he said.

As of yesterday, neither the NYPD nor FDNY was providing details about the attack. Gothamist reports that at least one person was taken to the hospital for treatment.
