Only in Florida would a man attempt to pay his water bill with crack. The New York Daily News reports that the man entered the Deltona Water Office and handed cashiers an envelope full of white powder. The cashiers were understandably horrified at the sight of a mysterious envelope full of white powder, which turned out to only be crack. Nobody respects the barter system anymore?
The building was evacuated and both the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and HAZMAT teams were summoned to to investigate the substance—which, again, was only crack. Brandon Haught, spokesman for the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, says that the identity of the man has not been released, but authorities are continuing the investigation.
This is one of the few instances when crack is the lesser of two evils.
