Yesterday afternoon, a 29-year-old man jumped off of the Verrazano Bridge. He survived the jump, but was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital where he later died. The New York Daily News reports that the man drove from the Brooklyn side of the bridge, then ditched his car just after noon. That's when police say he climbed over the railing of the bridge and jumped.
The unidentified man was discovered unconscious and unresponsive by the NYPD. Still, authorities were able to revive him for long enough to transport him to a hospital for treatment.
