Hideo Kojima’s been in the news a lot in the past few days for some supposedly controversial remarks, but that hasn’t stopped KojiPro from releasing an all-too brief look at the Fox Engine’s rendering techniques using the very subject of the recent controversy. (That would be the MGSV sniper, Quiet.)
Played by the actress Stefanie Joosten, Quiet’s rendering through the insanely powerful Fox Engine seems like any other kind of modern-day mo-cap, and unfortunately the video doesn’t really get into the meat of what’s happening (though you can check out an in-depth tech analysis of what goes into these photorealistic recreations here).
