The bad news: Nicolas Cage will no longer lend his totally Acadamy Award-winning acting to the upcoming Expendables 3. Silver lining, though: Dr. Frasier Crane himself, Kelsey Grammer, will take on the role that Cage left, as an ex-mercenary (who hopefully also has a radio show).

According to Deadline, the role is specifically that of Bonaparte—he's an ex-mercenary who "who helps the Expendables in their mission," which just so happens to be overcoming Conrad Stonebanks, the co-founder of The Expendables who looks a lot like Mel Gibson. The official plot synopsis is as follows:

None

Grammer's addition to the film just makes the already insane cast that much more insane—based on a story created by Sylvester Stallone, the film stars Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gibson, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Kellan Lutz, and, of course, Stallone himself. The Expendables 3 is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2014.
