A common phrase you hear in business is "you have to spend money to make money", and apparently Rockstar has taken it to heart.

A report has recently surfaced estimating this years most anticipated release, Grand Theft Auto V, had a production and marketing budget of roughly $265 million. Everybody knew that after years of development and all the features previewed in screenshots and videos released that the newest Rockstar Games project wasn't going to be cheap. With a budget that eclipses many summer blockbuster movies of today generation, Grand Theft Auto V, is seemingly the most expensive game ever produced.

Coming with the large bill of development and marketing, Rockstar is expecting a sizeable return on their investment for the September 17 release. With nearly 2.5 million pre-orders on both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, experts are estimating this newest GTA will sell 25 million copies within the first year and bring sales of nearly $1.6 billion.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is set to hit shelves on September 17, and with just over a week until release go guarantee your copy while you still can.
