UPDATE: Fat Trel's publicist Darius "Sunny D" Davie explained what went down last night in an email:

It went from a turnt up show to a battlefield in a matter of seconds. It was a pure stampede of people. After awhile I wasn't worried about being stray bullets, I was worried about being run over by the mob of people. And I have a feeling that there was more than one gunman in that venue. As soon as I exited the venue safely, I wasn't leaving until I knew Trel & Debo [Trel's day to day manager] was ok. My question is…who the hell runs SOBs security?!

A mixtape release party for Fat Trel at legendary SoHo nightclub and music venue SOB's ended in violence as four people were shot just after midnight.

According to the New York Post, a woman and two men were hit in the leg, while another was grazed by a stray bullet. "I’ve never been so scared because I didn’t know where the shots were coming from. Everybody is jumping on each other, trying to get away from the action," a club DJ told the New York Daily News.

The Post reports that the incident was triggered by a New Jersey member of the Bloods gang insulting New York City as a whole. "It was stupidity between some Bloods and Crips," one witness told the Post. "It was so ignorant. People started yelling at each other and then a gun got pulled."

Trel, who never got to perform anything from his Sex, Drugs, Money & Guns (SDMG) mixtape, took to Twitter to offer his own account of what happened:

Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the incident today.
