Ubisoft has released an announcement trailer and further details about the beautifully hand-drawn fairytale adventure game Child of Light.

One of the most interesting features of Child of Light is that it's made with families in mind. The game's main character, a young princess, goes on an epic adventure through strange worlds, fighting monsters in a coming-of-age story. A second player can also help playing as Nicholas, a spark of light, that can used to help the main character in both solving puzzles and in battle.

"I'm a father, and fairy tales are about parents telling their children stories that carry values," said creative director Patrick Plourde. "So one day our marketing director said, 'Why don't you make a game where you can play with your son?' and I was like, 'Ah! That's so true!'

Check out the trailer and see what you think. Child of Light looks fun at any age but playing with the kids is a great way to get their puzzle-solving brains going. It would also stop at us from having to slap the damn controller out of little Timmy's hand the next time he doesn't check his corners in Black Ops.
