Assassin's Creed: Pirates is a new mobile game not to be confused with the companion app tie-in for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Pirates is an all-new game with no direct contact with the console versions but shares the same rough and tumble pirate Caribbean universe.

We play as Alonzo Batilla, upgrading our ships and engaging in huge navel battles all in a quest to claim La Buse's lost treasure. Essentially taking the naval combat model from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag into a mini game. Players will be able to upgrade ships and expand crews with the same mechanics as used in Black Flag. The entire game will take place on a ship and there are no flash-forward Assassin's Creed side plot either, thank goodness.

Assassin's Creed: Pirates has been announced for "high-end smartphones and tablets" but no specific platform has been revealed. We expect it to drop sometime this fall.
