According to Variety, famed director Alan Taylor is currently in talks to direct the first film in a reboot of the Terminator franchise.
Not many details about plans for the reboot have been released, but Taylor—best known for helming Thor: The Dark World and directing various episodes of Game of Thrones—would be directing one film in a stand-alone Terminator trilogy that is being produced by Skydance Productions, Paramount, and Annapurna Pictures. Worth noting: This is also the same Terminator film that Arnold Schwarzenegger has been discussing so frequently with the media, though it's not clear if he will really be back like he so vehemently promised.
Plans for the plot haven't been released either, but current plans are for the film to begin shooting in January, then hit theaters on June 26th, 2015. We'll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
