Microsoft is implementing many small changes ahead of the premiere of its next-gen console, the Xbox One. Now the Xbox Live Marketplace has a new name, now it will be known simply as Xbox Games Store.

A Microsoft spokesperson told Joystiq, "That's right, [Xbox Live Marketplace] is now called the Xbox Games Store, and will sit alongside the Xbox Music Store and Xbox Video Store. This is to make it easier for consumers to find content both on Xbox 360 today and Xbox One when it launches in November."

This change follows the switch from Microsoft Points to real-world, local currencies. Microsoft is getting on its linguistic and streamlining game making all these different aspects of the Xbox's past fit into the nice package of Xbox One. Were glad to see the simplifications between the offline and online Xbox worlds, after all, the “live” version of Xbox will now simply be Xbox.
